Deep tissue uses a combination of deeper Swedish strokes, kneading, cross-fiber friction, and specific pressure to break up adhesions. This modality focuses on the deeper layers of muscle, and while there may be some discomfort it should not be painful. For the best result it is recommended to focus on the specific areas of tension rather than a full body massage.
